Alone I Stood

                                   We swept past each other,
forms passing in a quantum space
where time was paused, a transitory
meeting of eyes—but destiny
keeps its own counsel, shifting the
paths of uncharted fates.

Alone I stood, yet never lonely,
your presence in some way endured.

Morning lands with golden
vows, your essence awakens my
senses—wild and untamed, sighs
without words, your tenacity
besieging me—

My eyes dare not open, a slightest
distraction might break the spell
that binds you to me.

Eastbound winds bearing promises,
whisperings of souls converging—
of futures yet unwritten.
